Mary Scrimgeour majored in fine arts at the University of Colorado.  But, Scrimgeour says she takes her cues from two great men; her father who was an inventor and industrial designer and Leonardo da Vinci both of who kept notebooks full of designs, inventions and ideas.  The thought process of each of these men fascinates her and we are drawn to Mary’s fascination as she processes their ideas into her ideas on canvas creating an understandable unique style, one without complexities - familiar yet different. 

Scrimgeour has been art director for several prominent magazines while continuing her pursuit of her unique brand of painting.  Her love of children, a great sense of humor, coupled with a strong sense of storytelling complete her artistic vision.
